WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW 
Our client is a Waterford based engineering company that helps build and power critical infrastructure. They ensure complex facilities have reliable, efficient, and compliant electrical systems from start to finish.   We are now seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join their engineering team.

YOUR NEW ROLE 
  • Review project documents: Analyze electrical drawings, specifications, and contracts to understand the project scope and requirements.
  • Prepare cost estimates: Calculate costs for materials, labour, equipment, and subcontracted work based on technical drawings and historical data.
  • Request supplier quotes: Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing for materials and services.
  • Develop bid proposals: Compile cost data into formal proposals or tenders that will be submitted to clients, often under tight deadlines.
  • Identify risks and value engineering opportunities: Spot potential issues that could affect cost or schedule and suggest more cost-effective designs or materials.
  • Collaborate with project teams: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement staff to ensure the estimate aligns with construction capabilities and client expectations.
  • Track project costs: Once a bid is won, the estimator may assist in budgeting, cost tracking, and change order management during execution.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR 
  • Strong background in electrical systems and construction processes.
  • Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, or Cost x).
  • High attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read complex electrical and architectural drawings.
  • Good communication and strong English capability. High level of reporting skills.
  • Strong written communication abilities and the ability to negotiate a strong commercial position for the company are also essential.
  • Good presentation and general management skills.
  • Ability to work in a team or on your own initiative.
  • Must be capable of preparing “MTO’s” and compiling the Actual Construction Measure.
  • Capability to accept responsibilities and accomplish project objectives in a timely manner.
  • Computer literate especially with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must be eligible to work in Ireland & Europe.
  • Data Centre Experience.
